Welcome to 7th Grade Music
7th Grade Music - To develop the students’ appreciation of music by discovering the basic elements and theory behind music.
Students will discover the basic elements of music and develop an understanding rhythm, pitch, dynamics and tonal color
while learning the basics of reading musical notation. Concepts from 7th Grade Music are reinforced during Junior Chorus.
Music is defined as Organized Sound.
There are four (4) elements which make up music. They are:
T Timbre - the quality of the sound, tonal color, or the texture of the music.
R Rhythm - the flow of music through time.
I Intensity - dynamics, volume.
P Pitch - the highness or lowness of the tone, frequency of the pitch, vibrations.
